3k Footfall: GAF Check-up Camp Turns a Grand Hit

The free multi-speciality Ayurveda medical camp at the Global Ayurveda Festival (GAF) 2014

The free multi-speciality Ayurveda medical camp at the Global Ayurveda Festival (GAF) 2014 is turning out to be huge hit with the overwhelming participation of the general public. The camp, organised by the Ayurveda Hospital Managements Association (AHMA), offers free diagnosis and medicines to the public.

The camp also offers discount cards that will enable treatment of illnesses at prominent Ayurveda hospitals at a discount of up to 50 per cent for the next one year. Around 3,000 people attended the camp for treatment of various diseases or physical difficulties. The camp offers detailed diagnostics such as born marrow and density test for free.

A panel of Ayurveda experts, including P M Warrier, N P P Namboothiri, Mezhathoor Gangadharan Vaidyar, Ashtavaidyan Neelakantan Moos, Pulamanthole Shankaran Moos, Avanapparambu Maheswaran Namboothiri, Vijayan Nangelil, A M Anwar, S Sajikumar, B G Gokulan and Hurayoor Kutty are available for consultations at the camp. The camp is being held with the support of around 20 prominent Ayurveda hospitals in the state, such as Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala,  Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda Nursing Home, Punarnava Ayurveda Hospital, Dhathri Ayurveda Hospital, Nagarjuna Ayurveda Centre and Nangelil Hospital.

The speciality clinics include those for osteoarthritis, joint disorders, lifestyle  diseases, pediatric care, ophthalmology, orthopaedic care, neck and spine, liver disorders, general medicine, back pain, ano-rectal diseases such as piles and fistula, skin and allergy, sports medicine, preventive cardiology, gynaecology and infertility and eye diseases.

As many as 70 doctors and over 100 paramedical staff keep the medical camp running from 9.30 am to 8.30 pm. The camp will conclude on Monday.
