Curtains came down on the four-day-long International Folk Arts Festival here on Thursday. The valedictory session was inaugurated by Minister for Cultural Affairs K C Joseph. The fest, organised by the Kerala Folklore Academy, witnessed an unprecedented participation from artists around the world.
In his valedictory address, the minister said that folk art forms serve as a reminder of our tradition, and need to preserved as part of our heritage.
He added that in the coming years, the fest will be conducted on a much larger scale.
