KOCHI: The traffic police on Sunday booked 74 persons in the city in a special drive against drunken driving.
The police also took action against 63 persons on charges of dangerous driving, and booked 663 persons for over-speeding and other petty offences.The City Police in a press statement said that they had submitted a report to the Motor Vehicle Department, recommending the cancellation of driving licences of six persons. The police said that around `1,05,900 was collected as fine from various offenders. The police have taken action against 17 autorickshaw drivers in the city for plying without fare meters.
