KOCHI: A Division Bench of Kerala High Court has directed an Austrian citizen of Indian origin and her lover from Kerala to appear before the court on a petition alleging illegal detention.
The Bench comprising Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and P R Ramachandra Menon passed the order on a petition filed by the girl’s father, an NRI who is a native of Koothattukulam.The petitioner and his daughter are citizens of Austria. The girl got acquainted with a young man, who was at Mannar in Alappuzha, through the social networking site Facebook and later fell in love with each other. According to the girl’s father, the boy entrapped his daughter for money and to misuse her foreign citizenship. The father informed the court that his daughter was under the illegal custody.
