KOCHI: Department of Ophthalmology and Endocrinology at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences concluded it’s month-long World Diabetes Day programme with a high social impact video film festival on Diabetes and Eye.
The festival was inaugurated by scriptwriter S N Swami. Project controller Suresh Kumar S, Karunamrita Chaithanya, Rahna, Dr Prathapan Nair, principal, Amrita School of Medicine, medical superintendent Dr Sanjeev K Singh, Krishnakumar, director of Amrita Arts and Sciences College, Harish Kumar, and Gopal S Pillai were present.
It was followed by screening 10 short films on the social aspects of Diabetes and its complication in the eye like blindness, laying emphasis on the multipronged approach in preventing such complications.
The programme included free public education programme, free screening programme, cycle rally for awareness, quiz competitions for medical colleges and schools and a month-long exhibition.
