KOCHI: A 27-year-old housewife committed suicide on Wednesday by immolating herself at her residence.
The deceased has been identified as Reshmi, wife of Sajith, a resident of Ponnurunni. According to Palarivattom police, she had committed suicide around 9 am after pouring kerosene over her body.
“Though she was taken to the nearby hospital, she breathed her last around 3 pm. With more than 80 percentage of burns in her body, the doctors couldn’t save her. Prima facie, there is no suspicious circumstances for a murder. However, the probe is on. The body is kept at the mortuary and will be handed over to the relatives after a post mortem examination,” the officials said.
