18 Coast Guard Officers Pass out

KOCHI:A total of 18 assistant commandants of the Indian Coast Guard passed out on Friday on successful completion of ‘CG Law and Operations’. The passing out parade(POP) was held at the Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters No-4 at Fort Kochi. It was reviewed by Inspector General K Natarajan, PTM, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (West), and attended by a gathering of senior Naval and Coast Guard officers, their families and civilian dignitaries.

  The passing out parade marked successful culmination of technical courses by trainee officers. During the 8-week CG Law and Operations course, the officers were imparted training on Coast Guard specific subjects such as Maritime Law; Search and Rescue; Fisheries Monitoring and Control; Prevention and Control of Marine Pollution and other subjects related to the CG Charter of Duties.

  The Flag Officer also awarded prizes to the meritorious trainees. Assistant Commandant Vikas Narang was awarded the Book Prize for scoring the highest marks in the CG Law and Operations Course, while  Assistant Commandant Anuj S Chauhan was awarded the coveted ‘Director General Sword of Honour’ for the 59th Batch for standing first in overall order of merit. DIG MV Pathak, Commander District Headquarters (Kerala & Mahe), was the conducting officer of the parade.
