When you go some 200 metres from the Statue Junction in Tripunithura, you’ll find the bright board with ‘Idlikkada’, painted in yellow and green,  where you’ll get the amazing varieties of idli and dosa. This pure vegetarian hotel, has over 10 mouthwatering varieties of idli to offer.

From the plain mini idli to the Sambar idli (soaked in sambar), and the pepper mini Idli, Idlikkada’s menu is a combination of tasty and different dishes.

As you search the menu further, you’ll see that the spicy chilly idli, and stuffed idlis - masala idli and aalu idli. Every idli is served with  three of their special chutneys - tomato, puthina and coconut chutney and a chammanthippodi.

“Idli is the healthiest food possible, baked in steam, it involves neither spices nor oil in its making and we maintain high standards and thats why we named it Idlikada,” owner Sachin said.

Adding that ‘Idli Chaat’ was founded by Idlikkada, after his much love for chaats, Sachin also said that, they offer over 16 varieties of dosa as well. 

Along with the popular dosas like thattu dosa, which is quite famous among  the customers, Idlikkada is also providing Dosa spring roll, dosa kathi roll and dosa noodle roll, an invention of their own.

Idlikkada, which puts quality of the food and hygiene above anything else, uses a ‘Convotherm’ machine, which helps them make 150 idlis in 12 minutes, and makes the dough themselves, leaving no holes to compromise with the quality of the food.

Idli and dosa, the main attractions of the hotel, are available from seven in the morning to 10.30 at night, but lunch also is available during lunch hours. The hotel that started functioning on January this year, is also planning to open some more outlets in Infopark and other areas in Kochi.
