Two Held in Chennai for Helping Suspects

KOCHI: In a breakthrough in the cocaine seizure case, the special investigation team arrested two more persons in Chennai for allegedly helping suspects Reshma Rengaswamy and Blessy Silvester.

The arrested have been identified as Jasbir Singh, a native of Punjab settled in Chennai and Prithviraj, a native of Chennai. The arrest took place on Sunday morning at Tailor Road following a tip-off. According to the police, the duo were under the police radar for quite some time. “We received  information that these two had helped Reshma and Blessy for obtaining cocaine from Nigerian native Okowe alias Franco from Goa. They instructed Okowe Chigozie Collins to reach  Kochi and meet Reshma,” the official said.

These two were doing drug business for long  and had allegedly asked Reshma and Blessy to enter the trade. Jasbir and Prithviraj would be produced before a court here on Monday.
