KOCHI: The Department of Orthopaedics and PVS Institute for Joint Replacement, Arthroscopy and Sports Injuries at PVS Memorial hospital was inaugurated here, the other day.
BCCI vice president and president Kerala Cricket Association T C Mathew inaugurated the department. “ It has the facilities to undertake any kind of work related to orthopaedic problems”, claimed a press statement issued by the hospital.
The facilities include Ultra Clean Operation Theatre with guided airflow system from Johnson Medicals, Malaysia with 100 percent fresh air change- exclusively for orthopaedics- for elective surgery.
The department also has a ‘Trauma complex’ including- separate OT for Trauma/ Emergency cases, resuscitation room and attached exclusive ‘Trauma ICU’ for emergency management of seriously injured accident cases. The department has all requisite equipments anhd inventory to undertake any kind of Arthroscopy/key hole joint surgery and joint replacements as well, said the statement.
