Lawyers Vow Support to Justice Alexander

A section of advocates approached the Kerala High Court Advocates’ Association, seeking to pass a resolution urging not to remove Justice Alexander Thomas

KOCHI:A section of advocates on Tuesday approached the Kerala High Court Advocates’ Association, seeking to pass a resolution urging the Chief Justice not to remove Justice Alexander Thomas from the present jurisdiction.

The resolution submitted before the Association alleged that Advocate General K P Dandnapani and his family members were making attempts to shift the bold and independent Justice Alexander Thomas to some other jurisdiction. Meanwhile, K P Dandapani wrote a letter to president of the Kerala High Court Advocates’ Association, saying that the content of the resolution was incorrect and baseless, as much as that there had never been any attempt either on his part or on the part of any of his family members to change jurisdiction of any of the judges.

“The bid to move such a resolution by certain individuals is not only with a view to tarnish the image of my family members, but also with other ulterior motives. Moving such a resolution will also interfere with administration of justice, which amounts to Criminal Contempt of Court,” stated the AG.

He also requested the president not to permit the resolution.
