KOCHI:The Health Department will conduct sanitation inspections in houses, institutions, plantations and public places on August 11, as a part of its ‘intensive epidemic control drive’.
Inspections will also be conducted in hotels, bakeries and eateries on August 18 and 22. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by District Collector M G Rajamanickam here on Wednesday. Raids and inspections are being organised under phase-II of ‘Jagratha’ - the intensive epidemic control drive. The drive coincides with the ‘Surakshitha Keralam’ sanitation drive to be conducted by the State Government across the State from August 10 to 15.
All the local bodies, government departments, non-governmental organisations and residents’ associations are expected to take part in the one-month drive.
