Bus Owners' Stir From Monday

In protest against the alleged harassment by Motor Vehicles, Bus Owners Confederation has decided to launch an indefinite strike from Monday.

KOCHI: In protest against the alleged harassment by Motor Vehicles Department officials and police personnel, the District Private Bus Owners Confederation has decided to launch an indefinite strike from Monday.

According to them, city services will come to a grinding halt owing to the issues.

“Other than the harassment we have been experiencing at the hands of the Motor Vehicles Department and police personnel due to bottlenecks, we are not able to keep up with the time schedule. The Metro rail works were progressing at a snail’s pace. To make matters worse, unscientific signal system were in place at Edapally, Palarivattom, Vyttila and other places,” said K B Suneer, chairman of District Private Bus Owners Confederation. He said it was in this context that the association decided to move forward with the protest till a solution is found.
