Move to Charge Fee from Shops Flayed

KOCHI: The Kerala State Vyapari Vyavasyi Samithy flayed the move of the Corporation to charge fees from shops as part of disposing wastes. According to them, the move will have a severe impact on hotels, vegetable shops and meat vendors.

“The Corporation says that the rate is being fixed in accordance with the weight of the wastes.. With this move the vegetable as well as the meat vendors will have to bear the financial brunt. Above all, the decision to charge fee was taken without proper discussion with trade organisation,” said E Abdul Kalam, district secretary of  Samithy.
