KOCHI:The Elamakkara Police on Tuesday arrested the director of an IT company on charges of defrauding over 220 engineering graduates, after promising them job in the firm.
Sandeep Soman Pillai, 31, director of D2F Solution Private Limited, Mamamgalam, was arrested based on complaint filed by an employee of the company.
According to Elamakkara Station House Officer Sooraj, more than 100 persons filed complaints against Sandeep on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the accused, in the presence of polaice officers, assured the complainants to return their money.
A large crowd of job aspirants had gathered in front of the police station. Sandeep allegedly collected Rs 10,000 each from around 220 job-seekers, promising them jobs with salaries ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000. Though Sandeep provided job to some of the aspirants, they have not been paid salary for the last three months.
