Naveekarana Kalasham at Bhagavathy Temple Today

KOCHI:  In connection with the ‘Dhwajasthambha Punaprathishta’, a Naveekarana Kalasham will be held at the Bhagavathy temple, Cheranaloore on May 4. The Naveekarana Kalasham is believed to enhance the vigour and grace of the temple and the prosperity of the locality. The ‘Punapratishta’ and the related rituals will be performed under the guidance of Brahmasree Vezhaparambu Chithrabhanu Namboothiripaad. The ceremony will be held between 8.54 am and 9.14 am, said the Kshethra Upadesaka Samithi, in a press release.

The Dhwajaprathishta will mark the beginning of the nine-day ‘utsavam’ from May 7 with the ‘Thrikkodiyettu’, followed by different cultural programmes. It will conclude with the ‘Kodiyirangal’ on May 15. The temple opts for cow elephants for its known for its ceremonial practices especially the ‘pallivetta’ conducted during the Mahotsavam and the seven-day ‘Brahmini Paattu’ during Thiruvathira .
