Three Films to be Screened at Children's Park on Saturday

KOCHI: Cochin Film Society will screen three films at the Ernakulam Children’s Park theatre on Saturday from 4 pm as part of its activities in May.

‘Kalippattakkaran’, a 90-minute film directed by Shinos Rahman and Sajas Rahman will be screened at 4.30 pm. It tries to depict solitude by showcasing a young man’s struggle for existence to find his self-identity.

‘And the Fight Goes on’, directed by Socrates K Valeth will be screened at 6 pm. Flt. Lt (Retd) M P Anil Kumar, from the 1981 batch of the Sainik School in Kerala paralysed from the neck down for the last 25 years, has become an inspiration for a whole generation of school children from Maharashtra and Kerala. The 30-minute documentary tells the world that nothing can beat determination.

Kari, the 103-minute feature film directed by Naranipuzha Shanavas will be screened third at 6.30 pm. It revolves around Gopu Kesav Menon and Bilal who are on their way to visit Dineshan, an employee of Gopu. When they reach  home preparations are on for an offering to a nearby temple in the form of a mythical dance form named ‘karinkaliyattam’. With it commences the real travel through troubled waters and reel life and Karie, God and human being become inseparable from each other.
