Valedictory of KLCA Centenary Fete

The three-day valedictory function of the centenary celebration of Kerala Latin Catholic Association, Archdiocese of Varappuzha, will begin on Friday.

KOCHI: The three-day valedictory function of the centenary celebration of Kerala Latin Catholic Association, Archdiocese of Varappuzha, will begin on Friday. The celebration will conclude on May 17.

In a press conference, Kerala Latin Catholic Association president Shaji George said that a torch rally will be conducted from the tomb of the first major Archbishop Joseph Attipetty on Friday at 5 pm.  Varappuzha Archdiocese’s vicar general Joseph Padiyaramparambil will inaugurate the torch rally. A delegates conference will be held on Saturday. It will be inaugurated by Kottapuram Bishop Joseph Karickasserry.

Labour Minister Shibu Baby John  will be the chief guest at the function.

There will be a public meeting at Marine Drive, at 5 pm on May 17 which will be inaugurated by Syro Malabar Church Major Archbishop Cardinal Mar George Alenchery.

A resolution on protection of minority community and secularism will be presented at the meet. Varappuzha archbishop Francis Kallarackal will preside over the function.

KPCC president V M Sudheeran and CPM state WW Kodiyeri Balakrishnan will be the chief guest of the function and K V Thomas MP, BJP state general secretary A N Radhakrishnan, KRLCC general secretary Francis Xavier Thanikkaparambil and KCYM Varappuzha Archdiocese president advocate K S Jijo will speak at the function.
