Tanzanian Envoy Visits Kochi

KOCHI: A nine-member high-level team from the Tanzania People’s Defence Force, led by Chief of Defence Forces of Tanzania General Davis Adolf Mwamunyange, arrived in Kochi for a three-day visit the other day.

The General and his team reached Kochi on Thursday, after visiting New Delhi.

 Southern Naval Command Flag Officer Commanding-in- Chief Vice Admiral Sunil Lanba held a meeting with General Mwamunyange on Thursday.

The top officials have discussed subjects of common interest to both the navies, including joint maritime cooperation and piracy in the region. Mwamunyange attended the training of the Indian Navy, and visited the Indian Coast Guard facilities in Kochi.

He also visited places of cultural interest such as the Jewish Synagogue, St Francis Church, Chinese fishing net, SNC Maritime Museum and the Kerala Folklore Museum.
