K G George Felicitated

KOCHI:Veteran film maker K G George was felicitated on his 70th birthday on Sunday at a function organised jointly by Metro Film Society and Ernakulam Public Library here.

The birthday celebration of the film maker coincided with the valedictory ceremony of the film appreciation camp organised by the Metro Film Society. The participants at the camp joined the birthday celebration. 

 In his response, K G George said that ‘Yavanika’ was the most cherished among his films that he held close to his heart. The film maker also distributed certificates to 25 participants of the film appreciation camp. Justice Alexander Thomas, chief guest at the function, released the quarterly publication of the film society. S Rameshan, president of the Ernakulam Public Library presided.

The film camp, which started on May 20, was addressed by experts including Bijipal, Lal Jose, John Paul, critic GP Ramachandran and actor Murali Menon among others, said M Gopinathan, secretary of the Metro Film Society.
