KOCHI: Mattanchery Youngsters Cricket Association (MYCA) emerged champions in the Ernakulam District Cricket Association ‘B’ division league that concluded the other day.
In their final game, MYCA ‘A’ beat Tripunithura CC ‘C’ by 29 runs. During the course of the season, MYCA had dominated the league as well as the super league matches, winning all six of their matches in comprehensive fashion.
They beat Globstar Telecom CC, Aluva (by 225 runs), Swantons Trust (by six wickets), MA College Cricket Academy (by 169 runs), Chittoor CC ‘A’ (by 56 runs) and Sobers Cricket Club (by 246 runs) before getting the better of TCC. Allen Saju was the star of the show, scoring two centuries. The championship saw 14 teams competing in three pools before qualifying for the super league.
