THRISSUR: Two teenagers drowned in the Karthiayini temple pond near Elavally on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Pranav, 16, and Gokul Krishna, 16.
According to the police, the duo had entered the temple pond in the morning for a bath, but were not seen later on.
“Out of the two, only Gokul knew how to swim. As far as we know, the duo were not in the habit of regularly entering the temple pond. On Sunday, Gokul Krishna’s sister noticed that the pond was empty, but their clothes remained on the steps.
She immediately alerted people, and the Fire and Rescue Services personnel arrived and fished out the bodies an hour later,” said Pavaratty SI.
