KOCHI:Six persons were injured after a car rammed into a bus stop at Kavalangad near Kothamangalam on Thursday.
The injured are Rubin Isac, 27, of Kottayam; his wife Neha Rubin, 26; Ibrahim, 56, of Kavalangad; his daughter Soumya Ibrahim, 24; Souja Bava, 45, of Kottekkudi; and Meera Nasar, 47, of Nellimattom.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 2:30 pm when the car that was coming from Munnar with tourists lost control and rammed into the bus waiting shed. The injured persons, who were returning home after casting vote at a polling booth at Kavalangad L P School, were rushed to a hospital at Kothamangalam. Neha Rubin, whose condition is said to be critical, has been shifted to a private hospital in Kochi.
Case Registered
The police have registered a case, and launched an investigation. According to eyewitnesses, the accident was caused by rash driving by the car driver.
In two separate incidents, two persons collapsed and died at Maradu and Mamala on Thursday.
Muraleedharan Nair, 58, of Thiruvankulam, collapsed and died while returning after casting vote at SNLP School, Mamala. Babu Prakash, 36, of South Maradu collapsed and died at Maradu.
