The Apple Watch acts as a good activity tracker, notifies your messages and acts as an accessory to your smartphone. You can make and receive calls, read emails, control music, take pictures and manage Instagram photos among other functionality. It can also be used without being paired to a smartphone. The smartwatch is considered a best example of Internet of Things, the network of physical objects or devices embedded with electronics, software, sensors and network connectivity, which enables these objects to collect and exchange data, which is considered the future of internet connectivity.
Prices for Apple Watch Models
Apple Watch, the technology giant Apple Inc’s first step on the wearable technology highway and its new device category since 2010’s iPad launch, has hit the Indian markets on November 6. The launch of the smartwatch in India comes at the end of months-long wait that followed its international unveiling in April this year. The gadget, which has been a top entry in the company’s to-do list since 2011, combines the selected features of a smartphone with those of an activity tracker.
Nevertheless, in the advertisement for the product, the company has downplayed the technical aspects and has given a leg up to its aesthetic facets. The product has been met with enthusiastic reviews world over and had became the best-selling wearable device, with the shipment of 4.2 million smartwatches in the second quarter of 2015.
Three variants of Apple Watch were released in India - Apple Watch Edition, Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch - and they come in display sizes of 38 mm and 42 mm. Apple Watch Edition, which comes with 18-carat rose gold case, white sport band and 42 mm display, is priced at `9.9 lakh. It’s 38 mm version is retailing at `8.2 lakh. The 42 mm version of Apple Watch Sport, with silver aluminium case and white sport band, costs `34,900 and the smaller display costs `30, 900. The rates of the 42 mm and 38 mm varieties of Apple Watch with stainless steel case and whites sport band are `52,900 and `48, 900 respectively.
