KOCHI: The District Collector has ordered the Kochi Corporation Secretary to issue notice to commercial complexes which flout building norms by submitting parking space in the construction plan but later use it for commercial purpose. District Collector M G Rajamanickam on Monday conducted inspections at various commercial spaces and found violation of building guidlines.
As per information available from the Kochi Corporation, the District Collector inspected a building in which a fashion store was functioning. The building owner had submitted a building plan in which the space where the shop currently functioning was shown as parking space. Similarly, the Collector also inspected two other commercial complexes and directed the Corporation Secretary to conduct inspections at commercial spaces in MG Road and take action.
