'Arogyam' Expo Concludes

KOCHI: The two-day ‘Arogyam - Health and Fitness Expo’ organised by ‘The New Indian Express’ and Believers Church Medical College Hospital concluded at Town Hall here on Saturday.

The expo, which drew more than 5,000 visitors, was attended by top hospitals in the district offering free check-up in dentistry, ophthalmology, diabetes, hypertension and stress. It also provided counselling and acupuncture.

At the valedictory function, mementos were presented to those who had set up stalls at the expo. Also, a group performed samba dance.

The event, which was billed as ‘Kochi’s greatest health expo,’ was inaugurated by Ernakulam District Sub-collector S Suhas on Friday.

The objective of the expo was to create awareness among the public on local, state and national health services and resources. Stalls of multi-specialty hospitals, eye/dental care hospitals, infertility clinics, fitness/gym equipment suppliers and makers of skin/body care products attracted huge crowds.

At the expo, the Society for Organ Retrieval and Transplantation had set up a stall to assist those who wished to donate organs.
