KOCHI: In an effort to complete construction of the new Corporation office in a time-bound manner, Mayor Soumini Jain on Monday announced that biweekly review meeting would be held at the Corporation office to evaluate the work.
The decision was taken after the Mayor made a surprise visit to the construction site, along with the executive engineer, on Monday evening. “We are satisfied with the progress of the work, and expect to complete it by April 2017. We feel that timely completion of the project cannot be achieved only through planning. Hence, we have decided to hold biweekly meetings. Currently, there are no financial hurdles for the `18.65-crore project,” Soumini said, and assured that the new building would have all the modern facilities. Construction of the building began last year, following an 11-year delay, after the Finance Department cleared the revised project proposal and cost.
