KOCHI: The NIA Court will pronounce verdict in the Panayikkulam SIMI terror camp case on Wednesday.
NIA Court Judge K M Balachandran will pronounce verdict against 16 persons accused in the case. During the trial, which began in April 2014, the court examined more than 70 witnesses, various documents and material objects. The case was registered after Binanipuram sub-inspector K N Rajesh received a tip-off that a meeting of SIMI (Students Islamic Movement of India) activists was being organised at Panayikkulam in Paravur taluk in August 2006. The probe revealed that two of the prime accused in the case were involved in the Ahmedabad serial blast case also.
