KOCHI: Relatives of a woman who was declared brain dead at Lakeshore Hospital here on Monday donated her organs.
Thulasi, 64, wife of Narendrannathan Pillai of White House, Komana, was admitted to the hospital on Sunday night after she suffered serious injuries in a road accident. Thulasi’s liver was transplanted on a patient who has been undergoing treatment at the same hospital. Her kidneys were transplanted on two patients undergoing treatment at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) and at the Kottayam Medical College.
Meanwhile, the corneas of the decreased have been kept at the eye bank of Little Flower Hospital, Angamaly. Thulasi is survived by children Deepa and Divya and sons-in-law Suresh Kumar and Jayakumar.
