KOCHI: While discussions on de-congesting heritage street Broadway are rife, it seems that the local body and the urban planners are struggling to chalk out an effective plan to convert the one-km stretch into an iconic shopping centre. While the authorities in Bengaluru have successfully adopted measures to streamline traffic in the heavily congested city, the civic body in Kochi is yet to come up with any workable idea for Broadway. Anil Bhaskaran, an architect-cum-urban planner who is also managing Director of IDEA Centre Architects Private Limited, has put forth certain suggestions for making Broadway a ‘Broader Way’.
