According to the police, Senkumar has directed police officials to take the investigation as a ‘prestige issue.’ The  Police Chief, meanwhile, visited noted forensic surgeon Dr B Umadathan at his residence here.

The police are also seeking assistance of certain retired police officers who have dealt with similar murder cases during their tenure. On Friday night, the investigation team took two more persons into custody and interrogated them. Currently, there are 27 persons in police custody in connection with the case.
