KOCHI: Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu on Saturday inaugurated several projects implemented at the Ernakulam Junction and Ernakulam Town railway stations, through video-conferencing.The double line between the 7.94-km Tiruvalla-Changanssery stretch was also dedicated at the function.
The work on the double line was completed and the line was commissioned on March 28. Two additional lines with full rake unloading facility and a platform with 26 coach capacity was also commissioned at Tiruvalla.Passenger lifts were set up at the Chengannur railway station to assist the elderly and people with disability, railway authorities said.Besides, a lift was commissioned at Ernakulam Jn too. The work on the lifts at Ernakulam and Chengannur stations were completed at an estimated cost of Rs 37 lakh.
