KOCHI: The district-level distribution of land title deeds will be held at the Thrikkakara municipality community hall on Friday. Revenue Minister E Chandrasekharan will distribute title deeds to 305 people.
According to a statement issued by the District Information Office, the title deed distribution function will commence at 10 am. Of the 305 title deeds, 39 are of LA category, 105 are Devasom title deeds and 161 are land tribunal title deeds.
Similarly, possession documents to 39 persons living in Puramboke land will be issued. As many as 266 possession documents will be given to people living in Devasom land, but could not complete land mutation till now.
In Kakkanad and Vazhakkala villages, applications for title deeds filed around six years ago were cleared.
The distribution of land title deeds will be a relief for those who could not mortage land for availing of loans or complete land mutation. The title deeds distribution is being carried out as part of the government programme to provide land to all.
The government has set target to provide land to all in the state within the next five years. District Collector Muhammad Y Safirulla, all MLA and MPs from the district along with officers of the Revenue Department will attend the function.
