KOCHI: Even as the investigators are going all-out in their efforts to dig up evidence to link the suspects with the alleged conspiracy in the actor assault case here, the Infopark police on Saturday gathered evidence at the district jail in Kakkanad.
The sleuths took three of the accused into custody, including Pulsar Suni, Mesthiri Sunil and Vipinlal, to the prison. The police have taken five persons into custody in connection with the case which includes two more accused, Imran and Vishnu.
Officers said the evidence collection was to ascertain where exactly the accused had concealed the phone inside the jail and from where they made the calls. “Though there were no major disclosures, the accused were made to explain how they had made the calls. The phones were concealed inside the prison and they had used plug points inside the jail to charge the phones,” said an officer with the investigation team.
Meanwhile, more persons having business links with actor Dileep were questioned on Saturday. However, the questioning lasted only for a few minutes.With the custody period of the accused set to end, they are likely to be presented before a magistrate again on Sunday.
