KOCHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has written to the Kalamassery municipality to submit a report on HMT Jn’s development after reviewing the mass petition submitted in this regard. The letter from the Grievance Redressal Cell of the CM’s office was addressed to Kalamassery Municipal chairperson, Jessy Peter .
Jessy told Express she had received the letter. “I got the letter from the CM and have forwarded it to the secretary.

The next council meet will discuss it following which the report will be submitted,” she said.
The mass petition filed in March by the action council had urged the Government Polytechnic authorities to hand over the land remaining unused to the  municipality or the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) for the HMT Jn’s development.

“The college authorities replied negatively to an intervention from the office of Education Minister. They have 60 acres of land. Giving away  unused land for the development of the region will be beneficial in the future,” said M Nandakumar,  HMT Junction Development Action Council chairman.
