KOCHI: Transcendence of fashion took centre stage on Friday as ‘Kyron Kochi International Fashion Week’ (KIFW) kick started the 6th annual edition of the three night series of runway event showcasing breathtaking couture and riot of colours at Casino Hotel, Willingdon Island, Kochi. The show was organised by Storm Fashion Company.

The opening day of Kyron Kochi International Fashion Week saw Sakshi Bindra, gorgeous model turned designer showcasing her collections ‘Label Sakshi Bindra’ representing multicultural, multifaceted lifestyles of women today. The models paraded out collections for beach side wedding that celebrated femininity with a lot of floral depictions in terms of thread work, prints, and lacework. “Label” also shared hints of transparency with fabric interplay by lace, tulle, georgettes, and chiffons.  ‘My focus is on the women of today who are independent and ready to experiment,” said Sakshi Bindra. Miss Sri lanka 2017 - Eshani Diana Jayapala walked the ramp with Indo-western gown with embroidery.   Miss India International 2016 - Supriya Aiman turned showstopper for Sakshi in a beautifully embroidered red gown.  
Renowned designer Dr Sanjana Jon featured “CELESTIAL” a special collection inspired by the lush green pastures and coconut groves with the celestial skies and rivers in Kerala.  The effort is to support and highlight the cause ‘Celebrate the Girl Child’. The show was dedicated to women empowerment ‘Nari Shakti’ and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Andholan. Sanjana has designed for many international celebrities including Ivanka Trump and Melania Trump.

Beautiful fabrics with rich colours enhanced with intricate embroidery -the cut feel flow finesse, Dr Sanjana Jon’s collection announced fabulous unique blend of east and west. The ramp was virtually on fire with stunning beauties showcasing elegant designer statements highlighting both the romantic essence and beauty along with the underlying undeniable power women encompass. From subtle yet elegant whites to rich vibrant fuchsia, the colour play offered a feast to the eyes.

‘On Saturday, Hari Anand showcased his Bridal Collections themed ‘Obsession of Love’ inspired by the renaissance of handlooms in India, giving the traditional elements breathtaking modern twists for the young fascinating bride to stand apart.  Designer Nazia Syed presented her royal bridal collections ‘Bejewelled’.

Kyron Kochi International Fashion Week ended on Sunday night with the breathtaking bridal show “ Libaz “ by  Riyaz and Reshma Gangji and  designer Jaya Mishra presenting her exclusive Rajwada Collections inspired from the lifestyle of ancient kings and queens. 

KIFW featured an eclectic mix of show stoppers from different walks of life – actors, sports personalities and other eminent personalities each day. George Joseph of Casino Hotel said, “ Casino is the official host to the event, sixth year in a row.”
