NotRetired opens new vistas of opportunities for those who believe retirement is not the end, but a beginning
From abyss to an ocean of opportunities

KOCHI: Today, life expectancy in our country is rising due to better healthcare facilities. According to the 2011 Census data, India has over 10.3 crore people aged 60 and above. And as per the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, the proportion of India’s elderly population rose from 5.6 percent in 1961 to 8.6 percent in 2011. The situation is more or less similar across many countries, with Japan having over 33 percent of its population aged 60 and above.

“NotRetired is the answer that seeks to address the question of the country’s rising population that needs a job to make use of time productively. We are fulfilling a need that does not exist currently in India”, says Pratap Kunda, Promoter of NotRetired, the country’s first portal dedicated to retirees.
Currently, retirees are being obliged to their relatives, neighbours, etc. in seeking a job. Our portal has numerous features such as work-from-home, contract basis search and more, so the person can get a tailor-made job that is specific to his/her skillset, says Pratap.

When compared to other competitors who cater to a wide-range of users, our differentiating factor lies in catering exclusively to the retired, says Kamalesh, co-founder of the venture.
A recently-released report states that the number of people in India aged 60 or above would rise to 13.7 crores by 2021. Instead of relying on the state exchequer for their requirements, they can contribute significantly to the country’s GDP, adds Pratap. “Today, as the numbers of senior citizens rise, there exists a need to have a comprehensive portal for their employment requirements.

NotRetired fulfills that gap.
Also, people with decades of experience are a significant asset to any organisation”, says Nagender, head of Business Development team. The portal, in its beta version currently, has over 4,000 users enrolled and 200 organisations across different sectors on board. The portal would be going live in the next couple of weeks, said Kamalesh, and added that an undisclosed amount of funds has been raised by Pratik Ventures LLP. In these times, 60 is the new 50, say Pratap and the team, before signing off.
