KOCHI:A mobile phone application developed by Class 1X students of Choice School, Tripunithura has won them a ticket to TiE- The Young Entrepreneurs, a global level competition aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among High School students, to be held in California, USA. The team will leave on Wednesday. The application ‘Campus Communique’ helps connect students as well as parents. “There are apps developed by schools for the students.
The specialty of Campus Communique is that it helps to connect all stakeholders at school such as students, teachers, parents and the management. Using the app, each and every activity of the student is recorded and tracked by parents. The student/ parent can communicate with the teachers, place an order at the cafeteria before leaving for school among others. Option to pay fee is another feature, said Nalini Subramaniam, vice-president (academic), Choice School.
“Now Choice school students will represent Kerala at the finals of the global competition. They were selected after emerging winners in the Kerala-level final in which six other teams- four from Bhavans and two from Global Public School-contested. There are three other teams from India to compete in the global fnals,” Nalini said.
“There are more than 14 lakh schools in the country and around 6.9 million students. Since our app is not for any particular school or state, it can be used by any school or student,” said Aravind Thadi, leader of the students’ team. Sunny, George Rohan, Zayaan Sait,Joel Korah and Kevin Johnson are other members of the winning team.
