KOCHI: Actor Dileep and his brother Anoop were questioned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) again on Wednesday in the abduction and sexual assault case of a Malayalam actress. A team led by SP Sudarsanan and CI Byju Paulose questioned Dileep from 10 am at the Aluva Police Club. The interrogation lasted about two-and-a- half-hours. Later, Anoop was also summoned to the Aluva Police Club.
The investigators wanted to clarify few developments after Dileep’s release on bail.
The interrogation was conducted at a time when the SIT is all set to file a fresh chargesheet before the Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court. Dileep harboured a personal grudge against the victim and also attempted to have her sidelined from the film industry since 2014, the police officers said.
The investigators are looking to arraign Dileep as first accused in the case as Pulsar Suni, who abducted and assaulted her, had no previous enmity towards the victim.
Hence the one who conspired and hired him to commit the heinous crime stands responsible, the police said. According to the police report, the motive behind the conspiracy is Dileep’s belief that his family life was wrecked by the victim as she had purportedly passed on unnecessary details about him and his activities to his then wife Manju Warrier.
