KOCHI: TiE Kerala, a startup conclave with the aim of providing support to young entrepreneurs, has won global recognition winning the prestigious TiE Global Award. ‘The Best Chapter of the Year 2017-18’ has been awarded in recognition of the excellent work done by TiE Kerala in organising programmes for promoting young entrepreneurs. The award was received by M S A Kumar, TiE Kerala president, at the TiE Global Charter Member Retreat in Prague on Tuesday.
“The global award is in recognition of TiE Kerala’s multifarious activities in the last decade, including successfully organising six TiEcons, and unstinted efforts to bring a necessary change of perception towards entrepreneurship in society. The global recognition is a major fillip and inspiration for us to strive harder for greater achievements in the future,” said Kumar. TiE Kerala was chosen for the honour from among 62 chapters in 62 cities spread across 18 countries. It has been organising initiatives like Startup Support activities, Students’ Entrepreneurship in association with the state government.
