Indo-American Chamber of Commerce celebrates 50 years of trade and commerce in Kochi

Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) celebrated its 50th Golden Jubilee Celebrations and Annual Fellowship Nite at Ramada Resort here at Kochi.

KOCHI:  Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) celebrated its 50th Golden Jubilee Celebrations and Annual Fellowship Nite at Ramada Resort here at Kochi. IACC acts as a catalyst for the sustainable growth of business between India and the United States. Robert G Burgess, Consul General, US Consulate, Chennai was the chief guest of the celebrations. In order to improve the trade and commercial relations in both the countries IACC is extending its reach to major sectors.

 “Focusing on the regional cooperation, defence mechanism should be strengthened to tackle terrorism. Sustainable development in science and technology is required to make innovations in the educational fields. Also, trade routes have to be improved,” said Burgess.IACC has collaborations in sectors such as spices, seafoods, cashew, coconut, coir and Rubber Boards in Kerala. 

“In order to replace the outdated technology that we use in the electricity and in construction sectors huge foreign funds are required and therefore the bilateral ties must evolve,” said Venugopal C Govind, Founder Chairman, IACC Kerala.Meanwhile, Ernakulam District Collector, Mohammed Y Safirulla focused mainly on the growth of new infrastructure facilities in the city. “Kochi has the potential of growth in the coming years. With the extension of the Metro Rail, Water Metro Projects, and the Petrochemical Park the face of Kochi is likely to be lifted,” said the Collector.
