KOCHI:As a first step towards fostering discussions among stakeholders here for developing a framework for the development of streets and public spares, WRI India along with the Corporation will organise a stakeholders’ consultation workshop on Wednesday.
WRI India, a not-for-profit think-and-do-tank, in collaboration with the Corporation and Cochin Smart City Ltd is developing a framework for the development of streets and public spaces along with intermodal connectivity linking the bus station, boat jetties and other intermediate modes of transport.For the last couple of years, WRI India has been working jointly with the Corporation, Kochi Metro Rail Ltd. and Cochin Smart City Ltd on urban development and integrated transport.
Earlier on May 28, ‘Thanalkoottu’, a people led one-day event which adopted a ‘tactical urbanism process’ to revitalise the ‘Vasco da Gama’ public space into a vibrant people-oriented activity space was held as part of the project.
