Tamil Nadu native arrested in Kerala for murdering woman

The Ernakulam Rural Police on Thursday arrested a 61-year-old for murdering a woman, with whom he was living together, at Chembarakky near Perumbavoor.

KOCHI: The Ernakulam Rural Police on Thursday arrested a 61-year-old for murdering a woman, with whom he was living together, at Chembarakky near Perumbavoor. Police officers said Babu aka Ayyappan, a native of Marthandam, in Tamil Nadu, is the arrested. The accused - a ragpicker -   and the deceased, Bindu, a native of Adimaly, had been residing together for the past few weeks. They had moved to the rented house in the area recently.

The partially decomposed body of the woman was found lying on the roadside at Chembarakky on Monday. Bindu, who married a migrant labourer three years ago, ended her relationship with him and had been living with Ayyappan for the past few weeks. However, Ayyappan used to quarrel with Bindu over her relationship with others.
