KOLKATA: A 19-year-old teenager beat a man to death after discovering the victim's affair with his mother in Nadia district of West Bengal.

Police investigation has found that accused Buddhadeb Biswas (19) suspected his mother Madhabi Biswas (36) of having a relationship with local waiter Swarajit Ghosh (28) after death of his father six months ago.

He even warned him to not come to his house. However, Swarajit came to meet Madhabi on Monday night while Buddhadeb was at home. According to preliminary investigation, the accused first slapped the victim a couple of times after which he fled Madhabi's house.

However, the accused chased Swarajit and called two of his friends Sourav Haldar and Biswajit Haldar. The trio then repeatedly beat up the victim with an iron rod and fled the spot. The victim's relatives then took him to the local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

"The trio Buddhadeb Biswas, Sourav Haldar and Biswajit Haldar have been arrested and Madhabi Biswas has been detained for questioning. All angles are being investigated," Nadia Superintendent of Police Rupesh Kumar said.
