Sukumar said the University currently offers 350  certificates, diploma, degree and doctoral programmes.

The Thiruvananthapruam Regional Centre is located at Chakkalamukku near Sreekariyam.

He said the newly established  Regional Centre would coordinate the activities of the University  through its 46 learner  support centres-study centres, programme study centres and special study centres within the districts of  Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Thiruvananthapruam in Kerala and Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.

Most of the  academic programmes  launched by IGNOU are available through the network of learner support centres in these districts.

The Thiruvananthapuram Gyanvani FM(105.6 Mhz)radio station is  a medium for enhancing and supplementing the teaching-learning process by  reaching out to widespread learners. The station has now a range of 80 kms.
