THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) member Dr Yogesh Dube visited the State Council for Child Welfare office here on Saturday. He visited the centre in the wake of the incident in which an infant of the adoption centre of the Council died after falling into a water-filled bucket on Thursday.

 Dube was briefed by adoption officer of the Centre Rose Philip about the incident. Later, Council Secretary C Ramankutty and Rose Philip handed over a summary report on the incident to the NCPCR member at the Thycaud Guest House.

Dube also held discussions with the Child Welfare Committee under the Social Welfare Department. The Committee officials submitted their report on the incident. However, Dube asked them to conduct a detailed inquiry on Sunday and submit the report.
