THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A meeting of the Corporation and Kudumbasree Mission officials here to discuss the rehabilitation package for Kudumbasree Cleanwell workers decided to consider including the women under a wage employment component scheme. The idea is to engage them in sanitation works under the Corporation limits as in the NREGA scheme and provide them with wages until they are rehabilitated as service providers in installation and maintenance of pipe composts in the city. It will however be a temporary arrangement only. The women will be given training in pipe composting for which Kudumbasree Mission will extend its machinery. The Kudumbasree Mission has offered to give the beneficiary amount included in the installation of pipe composting as advance to the beneficiaries which would in effect promote more people to take up the composting.
