THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As a befitting gift to all who have been keenly longing to see the holy places that traces the life of Jesus Christ, Leen Thobias, noted panoramic photographer, has come with a virtual gift this Holy Week.

Titled ‘The Holy Land in the footsteps of Jesus’, it gives a 360 degree interactive virtual tour of 72 important biblical places online that are significant in connection with the life of Christ. Beginning from Mount Nebo where Moses was given a view of the Promised Land, to the Dome of Ascension in Jerusalem, the tour gives the viewer a detailed view of the places.

“The prominent holy places that are said to be connected with Jesus are included in it. Places in five countries - Jordan, Palestine, Israel, Syria and Egypt - come in the tour. Each place was filmed only after doing a detailed study about them,’’ says Leen. The selection has been done based on the contents of the Old Testament and the New Testament.

The viewer can pick the desired place at ease from the scroll list provided on one side of the site. After selecting the place they can adjust the view of a  place by either zooming in or zooming out. It also facilitates them to move  them left, right, up and down. Says Leen.

‘’Considering the technological advancement and convenience of users, the tour is created in such a manner that they can be accessed on iPad, iPhone and Smart TV from any part of the world.’’ It was after a long effort that he finally created the tour.

‘’Though it is completed, there are plans to give a brief description about the places in English and Malayalam,’’ Leen says.

The tour is available in the link, http://www.p4panorama.com/panos/HOLYLAND/index.html.
