THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Hotel KTDC Samudra joined hands with the World Wild Life Fund (WWF) to organise the Earth Hour celebrations at Kovalam on Saturday.
Lit candles replaced electric lights after the main power supply of the hotel was turned off at 8.30 pm for an hour. Lights, fans, ACs and all other equipment were switched off. Later, the celebrations continued up to 10.30 pm. There was a screening of WWF Earth Hour and other conservation videos. Many tourists attended the function. Sunil Somarajan, the GM of the hotel, was present. ‘Souljam’, a classic rock band, performed on the occasion.
