THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government is committed to ensure time-bound services to people with regard to the complaints on resurvey of land and delay in the mutation process, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

While inaugurating the Survey Bhavan, the headquarters of the Survey Department, at Vazhuthacaud here on Wednesday, he pointed out that people across the state had widespread complaints on various official processes associated with land and hence a foolproof mechanism was highly necessary.

In his presidential address, Revenue Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said that the Survey Department would be modernised soon and steps would be taken to provide the same training, which was available only in Hyderabad now, for the staff in the sector.

Finance Minister K M Mani handed over the keys of the complex to state survey director Dr K B Valsalakumari. Works Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju, Transport Minister V S Sivakumar, Mayor  K Chandrika, Shashi Tharoor MP, additional chief secretary Nivedita P Haran and others attended.
